Babiyachour (Myagdi), Aug. 12: Problem of eroding and landslide has increased due to unsystematic exploitation of river-based materials at Beni area of Myagdi district. Problem of eroding of fertile land and landslide has surfaced after contractors, who have taken permission from the concerned District Development Committee for the extraction of sand, pebbles and stones from Kaligandaki River, started extracting the river-based materials from the bank of Kaligandaki River from Ratnechour of Beni Municipality and Dhodeni to Bhasbhase. Tilak Thapa of Ratnechour Dhodeni said that such risk has surfaced after contractors started extracting the construction materials from the river, flowing from the border of Myagdi and Parbat districts, neglecting the environmental impact.
