Actress Priyanka Karki talks to Amrit Gurung of HKdarpan.com in her trip to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong Priyanka participated in a fashion show, ‘Fashion in the City’. After that, she was planning to participate in Mr. and Miss Nepal Australia in Australia. But, she was struck in Malaysia when she lost her passport with her bag in the airport. Although she got a temporary passport, she couldn’t fly because of the accident of Malaysia Airlines MH 17.


In the interview Priyanka talks about the need of education in acting career. She talks about the start of her career and message to the newcomers. She also talks on NEFTA award that is going to be held in Hong Kong in coming days.

Keki Adhikari – importance of shrawan month in Nepal

Actress Keki Adhikari is religious in Nature and she enjoys the traditional celebration of the Shrawan month. In the first Monday of Shrawan, Nepali women fast and worship lord Shiva. Read the importance and specialty of the celebration in Keki’s own words


May be because Lord Shiva like green and yellow colors, tradition of wearing green bangles, mehandi and green attire. Every year I fast on the first Monday of Shrawan. I don’t eat non-vegetarian dish for the whole month. I feel inner peace on fasting and worshiping in the month. I have been following the tradition since I could remember.


We should learn to find happiness in small things. Shrawan month is one of them. I am happy that I don’t have any shooting in most of the month. Shooting schedule in the month falls towards the end of the months. So, I have a lot of free time to to to temple, fast and having fun.

May be because I am a religious person, Shrawan months is special to me. In my childhood I had seen my mother and grandmother wearing green bangles, yello beads and red / green dresses and worshiping lord Shiva. I had been impressed and attracted to wearing such things. In this month one can usually find me wearing such dresses.


I can’t fast because of gastric problem but, I don’t eat non-vegetarian dishes throughout the month. I get happiness from small things so, wearing mehandi, green dress and yellow dresses are special for me.

I think, the new generation should also be motivated to follow the tradition. I am also focusing on it.

Was wardrobe malfunction Priyanka Karki’s fault or was she victimized?

Some journalists took photos of sctress Priyanka Karki‘s underwear and published them and also lodged a complaint against the actress. She was foreced to write an 4-pages long explanation why she hasn’t done anything wrong. In response the journalists claimed that Priyanka admitted her mistake.


I don’t know why Priyanka Karki should be giving explanation on what happened. It’s not her fault that she wore what she wore. Or, you have to say that girls cannot wear certain kind of dress in certain event, they have to sit in certain position for entire event, because they are girl. You should find better things to report. This is such a shame in entire Nepali journalism , especially film journalism. This is what happens when you have amateur, un professional journalist.

I suggest we should file complain against the journalist for doing this , but no we won’t because they won’t publish our news tomorrow or won’t report our event. So lame. It’s so shameful. We should raise voice against this.
We at Nepaliactress.com totally agree with Bhupendra Bhattarai. Nepali journalists have been taking advantage of their power.


It was the same case when one journalist went too close to take the photos of Nisha Adhikari‘s underwear. Journalists later forced Nisha to admit her mistake and ask for forgiveness.

A fan kissed Rekha Thapa in Nepalgunj

On Saturday when Rekha Thapa was participating in a cultural program in Nepalgunj, a fan kissed her by force on stage. In the program held in the local film theater, Rekha was on stage when a fan came to shake hands with her. But, when the fan also managed to steal a kiss on Rekha’s cheek, Rekha wasn’t pleased at all. 
The 28-years-old fan is told to have done such an action under the influence of alcohol. He was later handed over to the police. Rekha danced a short steps on a song of her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’ and didn’t stay long in the program.

Sushma Karki entertainment career picks up after break up

The break up of actress Sushma Karki seems to have opened the path the active participation in stage shows and music video. Sushma had recently featured in a hot Teej song and now she is in Dubai to participate in a stage show.

In the past some time Sushma wasn’t active in entertainment industry. She admitted that her filmy career has been in it’s lowest level. In an interview Sushma accused her ex-boyfriend to be the reason behind that (video posted above). Her activeness in recent days seem to prove her statement. They broke up after Naren beat her in public places, more than once.


Sushma’s ex-boyfriend Niran had over possessive of her and he had also interfered her in shooting locations. For that reason, the producers were reluctant to offer any role to her. Now, single again Sushma is readily available to participate in program and acting.

Namrata Shrestha Sex Scandal

Namrata Shrestha is in the top of the news these days with the release of her latest movie “Mero Euta Saathi Chha”.  I haven’t seen the movie yet but I have heard that it is a cocktail of Hollywood, Bollywood and Korean movies. She had shown her acting potential in her last movie  â€œSano Sansar”.


This post is not about her acting or movies but about a 8 minutes video circulating in the internet recently. I am not much sure, but the dimple of the girl on the video resembles that of Namrata. The girl in the video seems to be well skilled in what she was doing. Although the couple are talking in English it sounds pretty much like Nepali ascent. The girl, although looking a bit drunk, is well aware of the video recording as the flash lights are turned on. At some point, she tells “turn it off please…. its disturbing”.

Bhuwan KC son getting married in the USA

The son of actor Bhuwan KC from his first wife, Bijaya KC, Vivek KC is getting married in the USA. Bhuwan is flying to the USA to attend the marriage ceremony to be held on July 4. Bhuwan’s first wife Bijaya has been living in the USA for a long time. Vivek KC is marrying another US resident girl, Natasha KC.


Bijaya and Bhuwan’s daughter Kajal KC was married in Nepal in 2011. The high profile marriage was attended by high level political leaders including the ex-king Gyanendra.  Bhuwan had named his production company Kajal Films after his daughter.


Bhuwan’s younger son, Anmol KC, is the son of his second wife Sushmita KC (Bomjom). In a latest rumor, Sushmita is also getting married to an Indian businessman while, Bhuwan is told to be in a look out for a new wife. Rumor of the relationship between Bhuwan and actress Jiya KC is also a hot topic in Nepali film industry.

Shree Krishana Shrestha and Sweta Khadka wedding date fixed – July 7

The date of the marriage of the love-birds of the Nepali film industry, Shree Krishna Shrestha and Sweta Khadka, has been fixed to be held on July 7, 2014.  That is almost a month after Shree Krishna and Sweta had confirmed the long-time rumor of their affair. Last year, the couple had hinted about the upcoming marriage but, it took almost a year before they fixed the date.



Shree Krishna debuted Sweta in his home production movie ‘Kaha Bhetiyala‘. The success of the movie paved way for the success of the love between them. They are also running a hotel business together and their second movie, ‘Kohinoor’ is also ready for the release.

Nir Shah hospitalized after a minor heart problem

Nepali actor, director, and a businessman Nir Shah has been admitted to hospital after a heart problem. Our sources have termed the heart problem as a ‘minor’ case. He was admitted to Gangalal Heart Hospital in Kathmandu on June 28.



In January last year, Nir Shah announced retirement. We questioned his retirement at that time and as we expected he didn’t retire. He has recently completed the shooting of ‘Seto Bagh’ – a movie and a television serial simultaneously.


Nir is considered of the most influential personalities in the Nepali film industry. He started his acting career in 2024 BC in Hira Singh Khatri’s movie ‘Pariwartan’. After that he has acted in more than 300 movies. He is one of the highest paid character actors in Nepali film industry. Apart from acting he has produced and directed a number of movies. He is also a well known lyricist. Some of the movies he had directed include Basudev, Pachchis Basanta, Rajamati, Basanti, Masan, Seto Bagh etc.

Another Nepali movie in the track of ATM ?

Another Nepali movie in the track of ATM ?We have received a small clip of the shooting of an upcoming movie ‘Fight Club’. The clip shows the actor grabbing the actress inappropriately. The actress doesn’t respond to the action of the actor.(Youtube thought the video was inappropriate – attached below is a screenshot of the video instead)


The movie ‘ATM‘ also featured similar scenes and a lot of vulgar dialogues. We have no idea if the movie also have other sex scenes and vulgar dialogues, the scene in the video clip is similar to the one seen between actress Jiya KC and the producer/actor Dinesh Sharma. In this case, the name of the actress is not known.


The movie directed by Janak Gurung is produced by Kedar Dhungana. Kedar is also featured in the lead role in the movie.

The director Janak Gurung is a well known fight director and he had directed a number of Tamang, Tharu and Gurung films. ‘Fight Club’ however is the debut Nepali movie of the director.

The action movie features 11 fight scenes and features mostly new faces.

Bad timing of ‘Mukhauta’ release, World Cup stole the charm

Multi-starrer, huge publicity, big red-carpet premier – all these things didn’t help viewers to go to the theater to watch the movie ‘Mukhauta’. One of the most plausible reason – the date of the release and the start of once-in-four-years, FIFA World Cup happened at the same time.


The movie release date’s two weeks delay has been bad omen for the movie. In a report, the first day of release occupancy was only 30 percent. The reason a movie featuring well known artists like Rajesh Hamal, Rabin Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Nisha Adhikari wasn’t attractive to the audience might be more than just the World Cup.


Let’s analyze some of the reasons the movie doesn’t seem attractive:

The World Cup schedule – The games are scheduled at night-time in Nepal. There is enough excitement and entertainment at home so, they are not motivated to visit theaters.
Lack of catchy music in the movie. Music does play a role in attracting people to theaters.
The posters and promo give a hint that it is similar to another movie, a flop one – ‘Chhadke’. When comparing the two posters, I can see they are similarly crowded and are made on similar design theme.
The trailer (promo) and poster focuses more in faces than in plot. As a viewer, you have no clue what the movie is about. There is nothing that motivates a viewer to watch more of the trailer.

Rekha Thapa found a candidate to marry. In an interview to an online magazine, actress Rekha Thapa has told that she has found the guy to marry. n the interview, Rekha told that it will be her first official marriage. On the question on her ex-husband Chhabi Raj Ojha, she told that it wasn’t a formal marriage. She tried to imply that the relationship was an agreement and they were living together to make her the number one actress in Nepali film industry.


In the interview, Rekha told that she has already found the right person to get married. Although, she denied to give any details of the person, she promised to tell the details soon.

Karishma starts shooting of Heros

Karishma starts shooting for Nepali movie Heros. A NB Maharjan’s movie ‘Heros’ is going to feature Karishma Manandhar in lead role. The shooting of the female oriented film has started in Pokhara.

With Karishma the movie will feature Mukesh Dhakal and Jaya Kishan Basnet in leading roles. The cinematographer of the movie is Shiva Dhakal and features the music of Tanka Budhathoki and Kishor Chaudhari. The producers of the mvoie are Laxmi Lama and Shekhar Lama. Karishma will be staying in Pokhara for a few weeks for the shooting.


In previous interviews, Karishma had told that she only does movies with good roles of her. Karishma’s another movie ‘One Way’ is waiting it’s release.

Garima Pant cries in Dishanirdesh

Garima Pant cries in Dishanirdesh. Actress Garima Pant was featured in popular interview show by Bijaya Raj Pandey’s in Dishanirdesh. In the interview Garima cried in real when she was told to act for the viewers. Although it was only an acting, she brought the feelings of the character to cry in real.
Pandey interviews person of public interest in the talk show. After winning SAARC Best Actress award for ‘Jhola’, Garima has been in the lime light for the last few weeks. The president called her and congratulated and she was the headlines of film magazines.


In the episode featuring Garima, she does some of her acting and cried for real while doing one of them.

Richa Singh Thakuri lackluster comeback and questionable future

Two of actress Richa Singh Thakuri‘s movies were released in consecutive weeks. A couple of weeks earlier, ‘Maya Gara La’ featuring Richa in lead role was released and this week, ‘Khudkilo’ was released.


‘Maya Gara La’ proved to be another loss-making Nepali movie and ‘Khudkilo’ is going destined to similar performance in theater. That means, Richa’s future in Nepali film industry is not as bright as one might expect.


Richa came in limelight when her movies ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ and ‘Ma Timro Bhaisake’ became successful. Currently Richa doesn’t have any movies in hand.

In our previous report, we posted about Richa’s profession as a dancer in Dubai. That was the reason told for her absence from the Nepali film industry.

First look poster of Lazza released

The first look poster of upcoming movie by noted film maker Chhabi Raj Ojha, ‘Lazza’ is released.

The movie scheduled to release on Kartik 7 (October 24, 2014) features Aryan Sigdel and Shilpa Pokharel in lead role. The movie directed by Nawal Nepal is the third movie under Chhabiraj Films banner.

After the divorce with Rekha Thapa, Chhabi had registered the production banner under his own name. The first movie under the banner, was ‘Hamesha‘ which was jointly produced by Chhabiraj Films and Rekha Films.


In a total of 15 movies Chhabi has produced so far only a couple of his movie were unsuccessful. Chhabi and Rekha had produced movies ‘Kali‘ and ‘Loafer’ simultaneously. While Rekha’s ‘Kali’ became a hit movie, ‘Loafer’ wasn’t liked by the viewers. Like last year, while Rekha is producing ‘Himmatwali’, Chhabi has produced ‘Lazza’.

Chhabi is repeating ‘Lazza’ actress Shilpa in his next movie, ‘Hawaldar Suntali’.

Friday Release, Aawaran, Thulo Manche, Khudkilo and Pipal

Four new movies are being released on May 16, 2014 in theaters all over Nepal. Director Subash Koirala‘s movie ‘Aawaran’,  director Prashant Tamang’s direction ‘Thulo Manche’, Niranjan Kasaju’s movie ‘Peepal’ and Janakraj Khakurel’s movie ‘Khudkilo’ are releasing in theater this Friday.

Aawaran
The most publicized movies among the four new releases is ‘Aawaran’. The movie directed by Subash Koirala is also told to be made by using latest graphic technology. The movie features actress Priyanka Karki in leading role and other actors in the movie include Divya Dev, Sushil Raj Pandey, Naresh poudel, Anubhav Regmi and others. The movie made on horror suspense thriller is produced by Anil Yonjan.


Thulo Manche
A movie made on a story of children, ‘Thulo Manche’ is directed by artist Prashant Tamang. The movie produced by Pradeep Khadka features a number of child artists. Actress Keki Adhikari is featured in guest role in the movie.



Peepal
A movie made on social story, ‘Peepal’ is directed by Niranjan Kasaju and produced by Rajya Laxmi Kasaju. The movie is also the comeback movie of actress Arunima Lamsal. With Arunima the movie features Kishor Khatiwada in lead role.



Khudkilo
Produced by Balbahadur Shrestha, ‘Khudkilo’ is directed by Janakraj Khakurel. The love story movie features Kiran Lakaul, Richa Singh Thakuri, and Suraj Thakuri in lead roles. The movie is made on the story of Shekhar Gyawali.

Nisha Adhikari and Priyanka Karki helped the wife of dressman Kuldeep

Actress Nisha Adhikari and Priyanka Karki have helped Dilmaya Adhikari, the wife of dressman in Nepali movie industry, Kuldeep. In addition to helping financially, the actresses have also asked everybody to help Kuldeep and his wife. -


In a Facebook statement, Priyanka says, "She is the wife of Kuldip dressman. I say dress-man because that way a lot of my friends and colleagues in the Nepali film industry will know who I am talking about." Priyanka had worked with Kuldeep in three different films and she had found him a very hardworking and focused man. Kuldeep’s wife has been hospitalized for the past four months and she had undergone two major surgeries in that time.


Funds are the major hurdle for the couple. In addition to financial support, they also need emotional support. Priyanka has asked everybody to support her financially and emotionally and shared Kuldeep’s phone number (984-9178217).
