Nepal beat  Thailand by 10 wickets in the opening match of the ACC U-16 Premier League tournament held in Malaysia on Thursday.

In the match played at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Nepal easily chased a target of 49 runs in 6.1 overs.

According to Raju Basnyat, Assistant coach of the Nepali team, Captain Sushant Thapa made 25 runs while Rabi Chand scored 16 runs for Nepal.

Earlier, Thailand, which won the toss and elected to bat, was bundled out  just in 48 runs in 31 overs.

Nepali bowler Jitendra Singh Thakuri emerged as hero as he grabbed five wickets after conceding only three runs in six overs in the match.

Nepal will next play against Singapore on Friday at Kinrara Oval.
