Biratnagar, Aug. 13: The Jagaran Media Centre has honoured journalist Ganesh Lamsal of Morang with the Subash Darnal Jagaran Memorial Journalism Award. The centre working for dalit human rights honoured Lamsal for contributing significantly to the cause of dalit rights through the medium of journalism. He was selected through a nationwide competition. The award carries a purse of Rs 15,000 and it would be handed over on August 15. Similarly, the Samata Foundation is to present the Subash Darnal Civic Award to poet Shrawan Mukarun on the same day. Darnal, a noted dalit rights activist, was killed in a car crash in the U.S. while there for studies.
