Priyanka Karki, an interview in Hong Kong

Actress Priyanka Karki talks to Amrit Gurung of HKdarpan.com in her trip to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong Priyanka participated in a fashion show, ‘Fashion in the City’. After that, she was planning to participate in Mr. and Miss Nepal Australia in Australia. But, she was struck in Malaysia when she lost her passport with her bag in the airport. Although she got a temporary passport, she couldn’t fly because of the accident of Malaysia Airlines MH 17.


In the interview Priyanka talks about the need of education in acting career. She talks about the start of her career and message to the newcomers. She also talks on NEFTA award that is going to be held in Hong Kong in coming days.

Keki Adhikari – importance of shrawan month in Nepal

Actress Keki Adhikari is religious in Nature and she enjoys the traditional celebration of the Shrawan month. In the first Monday of Shrawan, Nepali women fast and worship lord Shiva. Read the importance and specialty of the celebration in Keki’s own words


May be because Lord Shiva like green and yellow colors, tradition of wearing green bangles, mehandi and green attire. Every year I fast on the first Monday of Shrawan. I don’t eat non-vegetarian dish for the whole month. I feel inner peace on fasting and worshiping in the month. I have been following the tradition since I could remember.


We should learn to find happiness in small things. Shrawan month is one of them. I am happy that I don’t have any shooting in most of the month. Shooting schedule in the month falls towards the end of the months. So, I have a lot of free time to to to temple, fast and having fun.

Actress Jharana Thapa is also a religious person who enjoys the celebration of Shrawan month. Jharana loves green bangles and mehandi worn in the month. Read Jharana’s take of the month in her own words:


May be because I am a religious person, Shrawan months is special to me. In my childhood I had seen my mother and grandmother wearing green bangles, yello beads and red / green dresses and worshiping lord Shiva. I had been impressed and attracted to wearing such things. In this month one can usually find me wearing such dresses.


I can’t fast because of gastric problem but, I don’t eat non-vegetarian dishes throughout the month. I get happiness from small things so, wearing mehandi, green dress and yellow dresses are special for me.

I think, the new generation should also be motivated to follow the tradition. I am also focusing on it.

Was wardrobe malfunction Priyanka Karki’s fault or was she victimized?

Some journalists took photos of sctress Priyanka Karki‘s underwear and published them and also lodged a complaint against the actress. She was foreced to write an 4-pages long explanation why she hasn’t done anything wrong. In response the journalists claimed that Priyanka admitted her mistake.


I don’t know why Priyanka Karki should be giving explanation on what happened. It’s not her fault that she wore what she wore. Or, you have to say that girls cannot wear certain kind of dress in certain event, they have to sit in certain position for entire event, because they are girl. You should find better things to report. This is such a shame in entire Nepali journalism , especially film journalism. This is what happens when you have amateur, un professional journalist.

I suggest we should file complain against the journalist for doing this , but no we won’t because they won’t publish our news tomorrow or won’t report our event. So lame. It’s so shameful. We should raise voice against this.
We at Nepaliactress.com totally agree with Bhupendra Bhattarai. Nepali journalists have been taking advantage of their power.


It was the same case when one journalist went too close to take the photos of Nisha Adhikari‘s underwear. Journalists later forced Nisha to admit her mistake and ask for forgiveness.

A fan kissed Rekha Thapa in Nepalgunj

On Saturday when Rekha Thapa was participating in a cultural program in Nepalgunj, a fan kissed her by force on stage. In the program held in the local film theater, Rekha was on stage when a fan came to shake hands with her. But, when the fan also managed to steal a kiss on Rekha’s cheek, Rekha wasn’t pleased at all. 
The 28-years-old fan is told to have done such an action under the influence of alcohol. He was later handed over to the police. Rekha danced a short steps on a song of her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’ and didn’t stay long in the program.

Sushma Karki entertainment career picks up after break up

The break up of actress Sushma Karki seems to have opened the path the active participation in stage shows and music video. Sushma had recently featured in a hot Teej song and now she is in Dubai to participate in a stage show.

In the past some time Sushma wasn’t active in entertainment industry. She admitted that her filmy career has been in it’s lowest level. In an interview Sushma accused her ex-boyfriend to be the reason behind that (video posted above). Her activeness in recent days seem to prove her statement. They broke up after Naren beat her in public places, more than once.


Sushma’s ex-boyfriend Niran had over possessive of her and he had also interfered her in shooting locations. For that reason, the producers were reluctant to offer any role to her. Now, single again Sushma is readily available to participate in program and acting.

Namrata Shrestha Sex Scandal

Namrata Shrestha is in the top of the news these days with the release of her latest movie “Mero Euta Saathi Chha”.  I haven’t seen the movie yet but I have heard that it is a cocktail of Hollywood, Bollywood and Korean movies. She had shown her acting potential in her last movie  â€œSano Sansar”.


This post is not about her acting or movies but about a 8 minutes video circulating in the internet recently. I am not much sure, but the dimple of the girl on the video resembles that of Namrata. The girl in the video seems to be well skilled in what she was doing. Although the couple are talking in English it sounds pretty much like Nepali ascent. The girl, although looking a bit drunk, is well aware of the video recording as the flash lights are turned on. At some point, she tells “turn it off please…. its disturbing”.

Bhuwan KC son getting married in the USA

The son of actor Bhuwan KC from his first wife, Bijaya KC, Vivek KC is getting married in the USA. Bhuwan is flying to the USA to attend the marriage ceremony to be held on July 4. Bhuwan’s first wife Bijaya has been living in the USA for a long time. Vivek KC is marrying another US resident girl, Natasha KC.


Bijaya and Bhuwan’s daughter Kajal KC was married in Nepal in 2011. The high profile marriage was attended by high level political leaders including the ex-king Gyanendra.  Bhuwan had named his production company Kajal Films after his daughter.


Bhuwan’s younger son, Anmol KC, is the son of his second wife Sushmita KC (Bomjom). In a latest rumor, Sushmita is also getting married to an Indian businessman while, Bhuwan is told to be in a look out for a new wife. Rumor of the relationship between Bhuwan and actress Jiya KC is also a hot topic in Nepali film industry.

Shree Krishana Shrestha and Sweta Khadka wedding date fixed – July 7

The date of the marriage of the love-birds of the Nepali film industry, Shree Krishna Shrestha and Sweta Khadka, has been fixed to be held on July 7, 2014.  That is almost a month after Shree Krishna and Sweta had confirmed the long-time rumor of their affair. Last year, the couple had hinted about the upcoming marriage but, it took almost a year before they fixed the date.



Shree Krishna debuted Sweta in his home production movie ‘Kaha Bhetiyala‘. The success of the movie paved way for the success of the love between them. They are also running a hotel business together and their second movie, ‘Kohinoor’ is also ready for the release.

Nir Shah hospitalized after a minor heart problem

Nepali actor, director, and a businessman Nir Shah has been admitted to hospital after a heart problem. Our sources have termed the heart problem as a ‘minor’ case. He was admitted to Gangalal Heart Hospital in Kathmandu on June 28.



In January last year, Nir Shah announced retirement. We questioned his retirement at that time and as we expected he didn’t retire. He has recently completed the shooting of ‘Seto Bagh’ – a movie and a television serial simultaneously.


Nir is considered of the most influential personalities in the Nepali film industry. He started his acting career in 2024 BC in Hira Singh Khatri’s movie ‘Pariwartan’. After that he has acted in more than 300 movies. He is one of the highest paid character actors in Nepali film industry. Apart from acting he has produced and directed a number of movies. He is also a well known lyricist. Some of the movies he had directed include Basudev, Pachchis Basanta, Rajamati, Basanti, Masan, Seto Bagh etc.
