Chitwan, Aug. 7: The locals of four VDCs of Madi valley in Chitwan district are forced to live continuously under the terror of wild animals. The residents of buffer zone of the Chitwan National Park are becoming victims of the wild animals from the park. Shree Prasad Dawadi, a local of Madi, said their life was at risk of wild animals as they could be attacked at any time even inside their houses.
The locals feel threats from tigers, rhinos, elephants, bears and other beasts. Likewise, two persons were killed in the attacks of wild animals in the last one month while a large portion of the paddy field in the area was also destroyed. The locals have asked that the park administration to construct a fence and dam to protect their lives and crops. A total of 20 locals lost their lives last year in the attacks of wild animals from the national park, chief of Chitwan Police Pradhmuna karki said.
